Kathy Brown's legal career started on a high note. Kathy was published in Law Review of the West Virginia University College of Law and was named Executive Editor of this prestigious publication. Remarkably, Kathy argued a case before the State Supreme Court as a third-year law student.
Kathy graduated from law school with honors as a national member of Order of the Barristers – an achievement shared by only nine other members in her class. As a practicing attorney since 2001, Kathy has handled personal injury and medical malpractice claims throughout West Virginia. Kathy has also worked on mass tort claims in Minnesota, South Carolina, Illinois, and West Virginia, representing clients who had been injured by defective products in the medical and pharmaceutical fields.
With her current office located in Charleston, Kathy's practice focuses on civil litigation for individuals and small businesses. She regularly represents individuals before the Circuit Courts, the Supreme Court of Appeals, and the US District Court in the Southern and Northern Districts of West Virginia. She also represents those seeking assistance in front of the West Virginia Public Employees Grievance Board, and for those seeking unemployment benefits with Workforce West Virginia. Kathy is a member in good standing of the West Virginia State Bar, the West Virginia Association for Justice, the American Association of Justice and the Kanawha County Bar Association. Kathy is also licensed to practice in North Carolina.
